Our Foundation
Bete Yared was founded by Father Dr. Kesis Yared, PhD in Christian Counseling, a devoted priest, preacher, and spiritual leader. He serves as the administrator of Debre Selam Kidus Gebriel Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Columbus, Ohio, and travels worldwide to preach and teach.
The organization was established to preserve and promote the rich spiritual, liturgical, and sacred chant traditions of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. Bete Yared nurtures faith, character, and cultural identity across generations through education, media, and community outreach.
A key part of Bete Yared’s mission is providing faith-based counseling for the Ethiopian and Eritrean community, addressing spiritual, personal, and family needs with cultural understanding and compassion. In addition, Bete Yared offers Bible study programs for all age groups—children, youth, and adults—helping individuals grow in their knowledge of Scripture and live out fixed faith in daily life.
Through his leadership, Father Dr. Kesis Yared has guided Bete Yared to become a cornerstone for spiritual growth, community support, and the preservation of Ethiopian Orthodox heritage.
